Solid-state batteries also pose a much lower risk of thermal runaway and can operate across a wider temperature spectrum. Currently, numerous semi-solid batteries are entering the market, with fully solid versions anticipated soon. The Chinese battery behemoth CATL indicated at the close of 2025 that initial, limited production of solid-state batteries is projected to commence in 2027, rather than a worldwide launch.
